2009 VMA's: MTV's Most Entertaining Program in Years.

BERSERK!
For some random reason Lil Mama felt compelled to ruin the ending of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' performance of Empire State of Mind. Who told her it was o.k. I don't know. But whoever they are, they need to be fired! Although their performance was hot, unfortunately Lil Mama will be the most memorable part of it. Lil Mama's brain must have been out to lunch or she had to be possessed by something that made her believe that was o.k. When she first jumped on stage I thought, not the lip gloss girl! Then I realized she wasn't part of the show, and this was completely unplanned. PRICELESS.  She made my night at work so much more enjoyable. It seemed everyone including me, found Lil Mama to be an entertaining trending topic on Twitter.

KANYE

Does he have incredible big balls of steel? YES. But it was very preposterous, even for him, to interrupt Taylor Swift. With that being said, I agree with Kanye it's called Video Music Awards. There wasn't a single person who didn't catch themselves imitating some form of Single Ladies( Put a Ring On it) last fall. It amazes me how everyone is so quick to judge and point fingers when someone else makes a mistake. It's almost as if we as a society thrive on seeing other people down. Am I the only one who seen the huge bottle of Hennessy Mr. West was toting on the red carpet? People often lose their self-control when they are drunk. Bottom line Taylor won and no one can take that away from her.  I wonder if Kanye will ever get invited to another award show.

LADY GAGA

As of Sunday I didn't own any of her music. Her performance was hot! Different yes, but I can't deny she's dope. I'm certain she gained a fan in me, and I'm definite that I'm not the only one.

BEYONCE
Congrats Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) for winning video of the year! Mrs. Shawn Carter gains an incredible amount of respect for how she handled things on Sunday.  She could've took in her moment and shined in the spotlight, but she didn't.  Like a real woman she invited Taylor back out to finish her speech. Awww!  Taylor also gets loads of respect  for not calling Kanye out. She could've got the mic and let him have it. Congrats to Taylor, Britney, Lady Gaga, Eminem, T.I.,Green Day and all the other winners. Even if Mr. West doesn't think you deserve it.

TEARS TEARS TEARS

Kind of disappointed in Michael Jackson tribute. Am I the only one who is wondering where was Chris Brown? O.k. Janet tore it up, but that was it. She was only onstage for about two minutes and then it was over. Did the world forget the incredible performance Chris Brown gave at the 2007 VMA's when he danced to Billie Jean. What about Usher, or Ciara, or any of the other incredible entertainers out there who can dance their asses off. I'm shocked that Janet Jackson was able to get onstage so soon and perform in a tribute to her brother.  She did a wonderful job, but there couldv'e and shoud've been more.

End Of Summer Thoughts: Movies

Even though this was a highly anticipated summer for movies, I don't feel 100% satisfied.
Back In May X-Men Origins: Wolverine was supposed to be the jump off. It wasn't! I remember leaving the theater disappointed.  It wasn't terrible, but not great either.

Following Wolverine was Star Trek, one of the few memorable films of the year.  J.J. Abrams didn't disappoint.

Star Trek managed to have a strong script that was emotionally and visually stimulating to see on screen, without being extremely drawn out.

I did have high expectations for Terminator Salvation, and I was let down.

I can't seem to understand why people give Michael Bay a hard time.  Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a hit!

I enjoyed it and was pleased. The storyline tied well with the first movie and not to mention I was never bored. It managed to include something for all movie-goers. It was funny with a little bit of romance, plus eye candy for both men and women.  Of course all the shit being blown up is cool as hell.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Funny People and Inglorious Bastards didn't disappoint. With that being said, they all seemed to be missing some element that could have taken them all to a better place.

I completely understand that transforming a novel into a book isn't easy and that everything can't be translated from page to screen.  But, I don't understand the point in leaving out vital things for the fear of a 'R' Rating.  Give me a break people, money isn't everything. If parents allow their kids to read these books, then they should understand what they might see. Reading about some things can be worse than actually seeing it.  The imagination is a powerful thing.  At least in seeing it their minds won't continue trying to come up with an image of these horrible thoughts.  Overall great, but could have been better.  The multiple duels toward the end of the book shouldn't have been left out. In leaving this out, the movie lacked something important from the end of the book. The emotional build up and mystery of Harry's feelings towards Dumbledore's death, therefore making his funeral not sad.

Funny People!

I expected the movie to be funnier. It's called Funny People! It was oddly serious. Great movie, but the second time around I'll take a more serious approach in watching it.

Inglorious Bastards!

Quentin Tarantino, I've missed you! I can't wait to see this again, but what was with all the subtitles homie-G?

Sleeper Hit of the Summer- The Hangover!

"You were in the hospital last night." Ha Ha. Funniest thing all year-hands down.  It's continuously hilarious, and forward with out being over the top. I LOVE IT.
